Skåne, Sweden
Helsingborg sits on the coast in the north west of Skåne, at the narrowest point of the Öresund strait, facing the Danish town of Helsingør just a few kilometres across the water. Like Malmö, its climate is shaped by the sea: winters rarely turn as cold here as they do further inland, and the strait channels the wind through the town.
That coastal position also brings quick moving showers and squalls off the water, so a change of weather can arrive faster here than a forecast for the wider region might suggest.
